A Ferrari 275 acquired GTB4 450.000 euros in 2004, has sold 850,000 euros last July, the Le Mans Classic, an unavoidable appointment of mechanical fans. A Lamborghini Miura SV purchased, she, 140,000 euros in 2002, has been awarded 680,000 euros. To say the least, is that the market for the cars of collection does not know the crisis. "As all the specialities of the art, it has become a safe haven", argues Matthew Lamoure, Director of the automotive Department of collection at Artcurial Mortorcars. And it is well known, when we love, it is not! Collectors generally consider the models they like when they were children. As adults, they want nor the toy, but the original.
Bugatti and Ferrari for the wealthy

Bugatti and Ferrari are the two most iconic brands. The Hispano Suiza, Delaunay... are also to the rank of the desired marks. "The sports top, led by renowned drivers, are unique pieces of art, and Matthew Lamoure, their ratings fall never. A model Bugatti, built in three copies, has it not been sold 35 million Ferrari, the 250 Testa Rossa from the 1950s (not to be confused with that of the 1990s), which is illustrated on the circuits of the 24 hours of le Mans, is worth between 10 and 12 million euros. Even more common models do a good success. This is the case of the Alpine Renault A110 Berlinetta who, having been in the hands of Jean Ragnotti, famous rally driver, can reach the rating of 200,000 euros.
Contrary to conventional wisdom, the cars of collection are not limited to these examples. In another register, the Aston Martin is also a tobacco. For evidence, the recent sale of Aston Martin driven by Sean Connery, alias James Bond (in "Goldfinger", in 1964, including), just find licensee to 3 million, while it had been acquired 12,000 dollars forty years earlier. When she has a history, the collection car defies all laws of the auction.
More affordable models
In collection cars is they also arrange models more regular and more accessible. It is for example the case of the Citroën DS, whose rating has soared. "A sedan in a State of competition is worth between 30,000 and 50,000 euros with all options of the time", still indicates Matthew Lamoure. Can even be fun for much cheaper. A small convertible can be acquired for 5,000 euros, a Rolls Royce from 10,000 euros and a certain Triumph between 17,000 and 20,000 euros.
If there are garages specialized (Mercedes for example), maintain some models (Rolls, Jaguar...) can be expensive. But the collection car delivered not necessarily to the garage. It can be used on a daily basis, or even to pursue his career in rallies, especially as, since the new regulation of 2009, when they have a grey collection card (to apply to the Prefecture for cars more thirty years), they have more restrictions of movement.
Another advantage: the insurance is less expensive than for a traditional vehicle (200 to 400 euro), because car collection is generally not fall prey to thieves.
RATED PERFORMANCE
Year of construction, the State of the car, its history... are the price of a car collection. But be careful: there are also the counterfeiters in this area. -Side performance, "not only is fun but it loses money." "At worst, it sells at the same price", finds Matthew Lamoure. The rarest models offer performance (see table above).
